A new orange edition of the Nokia N8 is set to join the colour range alongside the black, blue, green and silver models of this new Symbian phone. The Nokia N8 Orange mirrors the same great features found in the rest of the series but opts for a new, bright orange finish to its external casing.
Tipped as one of the most desirable mobile phones this year the Nokia N8 is packed full with the latest technology including 3.5G support, HSDPA for fast download speeds, WiFi, GPS and a comprehensive media player with a 3.5mm audio jack.
7 Inch Touchscreen
But the one reason above all others that the new Orange Nokia N8 is eagerly anticipated for is its camera, squeezed into its sleek, bevelled frame is a 12 mega pixel camera which is the first ever from the manufacturer. Although mega pixels are not everything when it comes to photography the N8 offers a 28mm lens and Carl Ziess optics which will allow for extremely high quality picture capture.
Another first for the manufacturer is the inclusion of HD video support, the camera can record video clips in 720p HD quality and these can be played back via an HD ready TV by plugging an HDMI cable directly into the phone!
The main screen is a 3.5 inch OLED touch screen offering crisp and bright imaging whilst the internal memory is a whopping 16GB which can be further expanded with MicroSD cards, very useful for storing all of those pictures, video clips and music tracks.
Competition from rival manufacturer comes from the Sony Ericsson Vivaz which offers an 8 mega pixel camera with HD support and the recently released HTC Desire with its AMOLED touch screen and 5.0 mega pixel camera as well as the HTC Legend which slims down the 3.7 inch screen of the Desire to a 3.2 inch AMOLED display with the same camera resolution.
There is also the prospect of a new iPhone launching this summer but the Nokia N8 has a massive advantage over all of these rival handsets and that is its price, as a SIM Free phone the N8 will be available for under £350, that is a lot more affordable than the £450+ price tag of the HTC Desire and the iPhone 4 HD is likely to be even more expensive.
There are no confirmed release dates for the Nokia N8 Orange edition on any of the networks as yet, however the phone will be available as a SIM Free and unlocked handset from early September.
