The LG Optimus 7 is one of a number of new handsets boasting the all new Microsoft Windows Phone 7 operating system. This is the perfect handset to showcase the new software; this includes a number of notable features ranging from a 5 mega pixel camera which is capable of taking panoramic photos and shooting HD footage, and voice to text function and 16 GB of internal storage.
Whilst the software and features within the handset is certainly impressive, it certainly doesn't disappoint on the aesthetics front. At just 11.5 mm thick, it is slimline and has been minimalistic and sleek appearance. The of the dimensions of the phone and 125 mm in height and 59.8 mm wide in order to accommodate the 3.8 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen. This utilises a pixel layout of 480x 800 which can display up to 16 million clear and vivid colours, and is capable of displaying HD video footage. As standard with many Smartphones, it also features accelerometer and proximity sensors as well as multi-touch input.
7 Inch Touchscreen
The ability to support MP3 ringtones is included, which functions alongside the standard vibration to alert users to incoming calls, messages and emails etc. Users can carry out handsfree conversations with the minimum of fuss thanks to the built in speakerphone system as well as a 3.5 millimetre audio jack.
The LG Optimus 7 comes with 16 GB of internal storage as standard alongside its 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. Thanks to the generous level of internal storage, the manufacturer has pretty much eliminated the need for expandable storage, which keeps things simple whilst still offering the potential to store thousands of files of many different formats.
In order to stay connected to the appropriate cellular networks, the handset utilises class 10 versions of both GPRS and EDGE, whilst Internet access relies primarily on an HSDPA connection in areas with 3G coverage, providing speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, assuring a speedy web browsing experience. Users also have the option to utilise the built in Wi-Fi connectivity which takes advantage of local wireless routers whenever they have the appropriate access, which in turn means enhanced browsing speeds. In order to connect to a number of other hardware devices, the handset also comes with micro USB and Bluetooth connections as standard.
The LG Optimus 7 comes equipped with a 5 mega pixel digital camera which boasts built in features such as Autofocus and an LED flash as well as geo-tagging. One of the notable features of this camera however, is its ability to take panoramic photos, thanks to its innovative built in software which automatically lines up your next photo for you, which produces seamless panoramic photos. Of course, the camera can also shoot video footage and this is in high definition at 720p (24fps).
