The Samsung Omnia 7 is the first handset from the manufacturer to feature the new Microsoft Windows Phone 7 operating system. As well as the software, it boasts a number of impressive key features such as a 5 mega pixel camera, 4 inch touchscreen and heaps of internal storage.
The handset measures 122.4x 64.2x 11 millimeters whilst weighing in at 138.2 g. Given its dimensions, this is relatively lightweight and certainly slimline making it a comfortable phone to hold and use and very pocket friendly. The measurements of the phone and you're in no small part to the huge 4 inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which does a great job of displaying movies and videos as well as providing a great platform for gaming and browsing the web thanks to its ability to display up to 16 million colours within a pixel configuration of 480x 800. It also comes with the standard accelerometer and proximity sensors and multi-touch input support there is common on most Smartphones these days.

The Samsung Omnia 7 has done away with the commonly seen microSD slot, thanks to its generous on board memory of either 16 GB or 8 GB depending on the model. Therefore, even the basic handset with its 8 GB allows users to store pay good number of files within the handset be they music tracks, video files, documents or downloaded apps etc.
Users can enjoy a fast Internet browsing experience thanks to an HSDPA connection which provides speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps in areas covered by three G, which also works alongside HSUPA at 5.76 Mbps. A faster and more efficient Internet connection can be established however, whenever users have access to local wireless Internet routers, whereby Wi-Fi connectivity can be utilised. Bluetooth and micro USB connections are also included to keep the handset connected to other compatible devices whereby a number of tasks can be carried out whilst EDGE and GPRS provide access to the appropriate cellular networks.
The Samsung Omnia 7 comes equipped with a 5 mega pixel digital camera which is capable of taking superb quality still images thanks to its high operating pixel resolution along with credentials such as Autofocus, LED flash, image stabilisation and even geo-tagging, the latter of which functions thanks to GPS and allows users to keep track of where they took their photos or shot there videos. The camera can shoot video footage in 720p high definition as an alternative to taking still images.
Microsoft Windows Phone 7 is the operating system of choice, and along with a powerful 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor offers a fantastic user experience thanks to its lightning fast response times, meaning everything from the operating the touch screen to watch in the movies and playing games is ultra responsive with virtually zero lag time.
Thanks to its Microsoft OS, the handset comes with a Microsoft Office document viewer/editor whilst it also sports and media player, radio player, pre-installed games and social networking integration as well as support for a number of different messaging formats such as SMS, MMS, E mail, push E mail and IM.
