A new blue colour variant of the Nokia N8 is set to join the range of colour schemes available for this latest Nokia phone which also includes the N8 silver, green, black and orange editions.

The Nokia N8 Blue is finished in a funky and vibrant blue housing and offers the new N8 unique design aspects including the tapered top and bottom elements of the phone.

Billed as one of the most eagerly anticipated launches from Nokia to date, the N8 offers some great new technology alongside some exciting features not currently available on the market.

The first of these is the inclusion of a 12 mega pixel camera, now phones with this resolution of lens are available at present but the Nokia N8 incorporates a massive 28mm lens and the much acclaimed Carl Zies optics for picture perfect imaging.

The camera is also able to capture HD quality video clips at 720p resolution, which is not a marjet first but the N8 is the first ever mobile phone to offer an HDMI port! This mean that you can play back your recorded HD movies on an HD TV in front of family and friends.

The Blue Nokia N8 also offers a 3.5 inch OLED touch screen display which makes for clear and crisp images along with multi touch technology, there is also WiFi and bluetooth for wireless connections, GPS for route finding and geo tagging, HSDPA for fast download speeds and 3.5G support for quick internet browsing.

Other features include a comprehensive multimedia player with a 3.5mm audio jack for using your own headphones and an expandable memory with 16GB of internal storage space.

The N8 find competition from rival handsets such as the HTC Desire, Sony Ericsson Vivaz and new iPhone 4G (HD), but has a further ace up its sleeve - it is cheaper to buy than all of the competing models!

The HTC Desire is the most advanced from the manufacturer with a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen but only offers a 5 mega pixel camera, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz further improves with an 8 mega pixel camera and similar HD support whilst the new Apple iPhone 4 HD 4G (name still not confirmed) offers the same 720p HD video support but no confirmed resolution for its camera and will demand a far higher price tag.

The Nokia N8 Blue edition is set to launch in early September as a SIM Free phone that is unlocked to all network operators, the networks themselves are still fighting over exclusive rights to launch the individual colour schemes with Orange no doubt gunning for the black edition having just released their HTC Desire Black.

Nokia 97 Mini Mobile Phone Review - A Slender, Effective, Touchscreen Phone

Whether you loved or hated the Nokia 97, the Nokia 97 Mini certainly has a lot to offer. It's a lot more than just a smaller, prettier version of its predecessor. With its 5 megapixel camera, fairly responsive touchscreen, and speedy connection, it provides a user experience that seems more polished and thought out. Combine this with a significantly lowered price, and you have a phone that's definitely worth having.

Appearance:

One of the biggest downsides to the N97 was its enormous, clunky design. Fortunately, the N97 Mini is considerably smaller, lighter, and more attractive, at a mere 138g. The screen is slightly smaller at 3.2 inches, but with 16.7 million colours, it's still incredibly vivid, if not a bit dim. The screen responds reasonably well to touch, though a few users have complained that they have to press their nail against the screen rather than their fingertip to get any response. This isn't an issue for most, but if you want to take advantage of the array of touchscreen games, for example, it may be something of an annoyance.

Its exterior is fairly sturdy, and fans of the N97 will see that they've improved on the QWERTY keyboard as well. It slides out smoothly and shuts firmly. Each key is individually raised, which is great for fast, easy typing. Its only downside is that the spacebar is located on the right side of the keyboard rather than simply at the bottom, which has proved problematic.

Another big complaint about the previous phone would have to be the operating system. Full of random restarts and glitches, its Symbian OS was prone to all sorts of unpredictable antics. The N97 Mini, however, seems to run a lot smoother.

Sound:

When it comes to sound, the N97 Mini performs fairly well, with crisp, clear sound quality as well as dedicated volume control and a handy FM radio RDS and 3.5 mm headphone jack. It can play a variety of music formats, including MP3s, MWA, AAC, eAAC, and eAAC+. Its playlist capabilities also help in keeping everything organised. That aside, the sound system is fairly basic, with nothing sparkly or new. However, its flawless sound also makes it good for business related tasks, such as conference calls.

Camera:

The N97 Mini's camera is definitely one of its stronger points. It won't replace your digital camera, and there are certainly phones with better quality, but when you consider its size and price, it's certainly impressive. At 5 megapixels, with a dual LED flash, 14x digital zoom, dedicated camera key, picture and video geo tagging, and Carl Zeiss optics, this is definitely a camera that packs a punch. It also contains a separate camera for making movies as well, with video streaming and light options as well as a wealth of settings to play with.

Internet Connectivity:

The N97 Mini is fairly speedy and consistent when it comes to keeping connected. Along with having 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth, EDGE, TV Out, and WLAN Wi-Fi with UpnP support, there's also an micro USB option as well. Texers will enjoy its SMS, MMS, and instant messaging capabilities. Its push email and email web widgets are also a nice touch, though some users have complained of it being somewhat confusing. Finally, its Quad Band and WCDMA technology will ensure you always stay connected no matter where you roam.

Memory and Talk Time:

Along with shrinking the touch screen, Nokia has significantly lowered the memory as well. However, 8 gigabytes is enough for most to be able to enjoy their music, pictures, and emails, and there is an additional 16 gigabytes available on microSD cards should you need more. As for talk time, with seven hours of GSM talk time and 320 hours of GSM standby, it might be a good idea to charge often. However, when you consider the size of the phone and the amount of goodies inside of it, it's not surprising that this should be necessary.

Conclusion: The N97 Mini is a definite improvement over the N97. Its polished OS, awesome camera, speedy internet, and sleek, attractive new appearance makes it worth consideration.

One of the newest up and coming electronic gadgets on the consumer electronics market today is the tablet computer. A tablet PC is a wireless computer that looks very much an old fashioned paper tablet (remember those? (Fees of course will vary with whatever internet service provider you have, or you can easily piggyback off various wi-fi hotspots in your area as well).

These tablet computers are perfect for college students (especially with a wireless keyboard if you choose to take notes in class or draw diagrams, or using the stylus to hand-write your notes right into the tablet. You can also get portable keyboards that are flexible and you can roll them up and put them into your satchel if you desire). The great selection of apps available for the Stream TV eLocity A7 make it very customizable and efficient for whatever task you choose to use it for. Experts feel this new tablet computer is going to be one of the most affordable and remarkable tablet computers to be released in 2010, and anyone considering getting a tablet computer should seriously consider the Stream TV eLocity A7.

At CES Asus introduced the ASUS Eee Slate EP121- 12 Inch Tablet, a unique variant of the usual tablet. What sets it apart is that the Asus tablet is bigger, has an Intel I5 duel core processor, DDR3 memory, Gorilla Glass, and has Windows 7 premium as the operating system. If we delve further, the tablet has all the usual refinements, such as: 32 GB or 63 GB hard drive, a Capacitive LED Touchscreen, Wifi and Bluetooth support, front facing 2 megapixel camera, and an hdmi port.

Let's now further inspect the desirable and the not so desirable qualities of the tablet. The size, 12 inch 1280 x 800 pixel resolution screen, might be good for some, but it is too big to carry and use it outside your house, and its weight, weighing at 2.5+ pounds, is a pound more than the iPad, and 1.5 pounds more than the Galaxy tab. Plus if you are going to use it primarily at home, it would make more sense to buy an ultra-lightweight laptop, and at that price point, starting at 9.99, a high quality laptop is easily attainable with better specifications. Another undesirable is that it has Windows installed, and Windows is not optimized for touch, and not optimized for battery longevity. The Asus gets a maximum 4 hours of battery life. Not only that, with the introduction of Windows, the tablet becomes vulnerable to 90+ percent of all virus, which means two things. One, that you will be required to install extra protection software that will reduce the tablets capabilities, and two, your tablet can crash, which will is unpleasant.

Of course with the size come good things, like the processor, which is far more powerful than the much heralded Nvidia Tegra 2 duel core processor. Comparing CPU benchmarks, the Intel Core i5-470UM processor (1.33 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 1.86 GHz) is comparable to low end to midrange desktop processors. DDR3 memory is a plus, and by the looks of it, the hardware should handle any internet task without much effort. Another highlight is its Gorilla Glass screen which is super tough and is highly resistant to scratches. Windows has many pluses, and personally I love Windows 7. With Windows installed you can easily transfer files from other computers without much hassle. Flash 10.1 is supported, and you can theoretically play any Windows game on the market.

Overall the ASUS Eee Slate EP121- 12 Inch Tablet sounds great as a home entertainment device. It has nice features and specs. But as a mobile device, the ASUS Eee Slate EP121- 12 Inch Tablet is not. It is just too big and heavy to carry around and enjoy in public.

The Lexmark C792 series is one of the newest families of colour printers announced early 2011. These new printers aim to deliver great colour quality by utilising the laser technology and fast speeds by offering two-sided printing support. It can hold thousands of sheets while printed paper can head to any of the different output options. It even has a few functions that allow printing on media specifically for outdoor usage. Whether you have used a Lexmark printer or not, the learning curve is not really that difficult and these tips can help you make the most out of your printer once you finally get one.

The Lexmark C792 features a 4.3-inch touchscreen display where you can actually perform some printing operations without connecting the printer to a computer. The Direct USB feature accepts various files like documents and images in the USB flash drive. Printing is as easy as plugging it in the printer's USB port and navigating through the touchscreen interface for immediate printing. Getting used to this feature early can let you work faster.

Getting to Know the Drivers and Software

Lexmark has their own support site where you can download the latest drivers for your C792 printer. It is best to acquire them there even if you have CD drivers because a newer version might be available that may contain bug fixes or brand new features. It is also recommended to use this software even if your operating system automatically detects the drivers when you plug the printer in. With these drivers, you can better monitor your printer using software like Status Messenger which highlights any problems that arise in the notification area. Setting up the printer will be much easier using the Printer Setup Utility while the IP Setup Utility helps in the network setup. You can then save these drivers settings using the Drive Profiler Management Tool so future installations are faster.

The Screen Fonts feature makes sure that you see the exact fonts that you will see on paper. You can also accurately check the toner levels through the Status Monitor Centre which also doubles as a price to look for additional supplies online.

Expanding the Capacity and Capabilities

The C792 comes in various sizes but all of them are expandable so you can hold more paper. Even the smallest Lexmark C792e features expandable input where the capacity can be increased to hold up 3,200 sheets. Use Lexmark's official support website for reference to see which trays and add-ons you can purchase so you can be more productive. Don't forget too that you can choose four output options such as an offset stacker or five-bin mailbox.

Using the Eco-Mode

The Eco-Mode is a unique feature that minimises both toner and paper usage. Configure these settings using the touchscreen control panel and find the right balance where the print quality is still fine for certain tasks. Continuously relying on this feature means more paper saved and lower overall energy consumption. Your toner cartridge should last longer as well. There is also lone button with a yellow moon icon which represents the Sleep mode which can also help save energy while the device isn't used.
